To Infinity Wall and Beyond…

A CYC, cyclorama, white sweep, or infinity wall is a very useful background to have in your studio. At Image Resources, Inc. we are excited to kick off 2019 with a brand new CYC wall in our studio. Although paper backdrops offer some advantages, mainly variety and changeability, CYC walls make a world of difference in videos and photos. With a CYC wall, you don’t have the same inconvenience of paper backgrounds that pose the risk of ripping or creasing, and while the initial cost is more than paper backdrops, it saves perpetual paper replacement costs down the line.
A CYC (pronounced C-Y-C or “psych”) is a curved wall used as a background, curved where the walls come together and also smoothly at the bottom to meet the studio floor.

When lit properly, the corner-less joint provides the illusion of a studio floor that continues to infinity. In photography and videography, the greatest advantage of using a CYC is the ability to make your background virtually disappear so whoever or whatever you are capturing takes center stage. More importantly, the curved wall allows you and your subject to have multiple camera angles at once and the flexibility to move around while still staying within the infinity background. It also allows a photographer or videographer to easily shoot subject from head-to-toe, without any cropping needed to avoid undesirable background objects and allows you to get a more large scale shot and unique angles. This distinct perspective, when coupled with the infinity curves stunning appearance, can produce results that clients love.

The new CYC wall in our studio is perfect for full body group shots of your firm, web videos, and much more. To schedule a photo shoot or video session at our Indianapolis office please call 317-228-9080 or email emily@i-r.com.
